Make your own Quicksand
So we talked about the basic information about quicksand and how can we escape from getting stuck in that situation . Don't forget that we add some little facts and issue related to this topic . Yet I know that someone will want to try this out due to the striking curiosity . It is normal to get curious at some stuff because we are human and we tend to know or eager to know something until we achieve it . Just like the quicksand , I know that someone there want to go out and find some areas where the quicksand can be found to try out or to prove if the steps on escaping the quicksand is effective . And that's the time where we can see the probability of incident .
Now for those who are curious about this and to prevent risky consequences , I made a Do it yourself (diy) quicksand . You can use this as a toy (a stress reliever toy )or do something whatever you want to this stuff.
So this is where I get the information on how to make quicksand. It is very fun to play with and enjoyable yet messy .
So the materials we need to use for this experiment is too simple :
- 1/2 Cornstarch
- 2 cups of water
- Food coloring (optional)
- Bowl
- Figurine (optional)
As for me , I didnt use food coloring and figurine(as a human for your experiment ) because I don't have money to buy those .
Procedures:
- Put a 1/2 of cornstarch in a bowl .
- Add 2 cups of water to make it look like a mud .
- Limit the water you pour in the bowl . Prevent it from turning to liquid .
- Add a food coloring if you want .
- Time to enjoy the experiment you made .
Notice that the one you made is just like a quicksand particle , right ? Because it involves non-newtonian liquid . This is what I mention earlier about quicksand . It means that the fluid that acts differently depending on the amount of force applied. Applying hard force makes the quicksand act like a solid, while being gentle makes it act like a liquid.
So that's it . Try visit at melchemistry.com , this is where I get my ideas in experimenting stuff related to science .
